Our Mission
As educators of some of our nation's youngest and most impressionable learners, kindergarten teachers face a unique set of issues and challenges. Chief among them is instruction. Every day, kindergarten teachers across the country must address a myriad of questions about this most fundamental facet of early childhood education:
- What are the essentials of kindergarten instruction?
- What topics and practices are vital to a successful program?
- Which materials and instructional practices are developmentally appropriate?
- How do I incorporate instruction into my half-day sessions? Full-day sessions?
- What does the current research reveal about kindergarten instruction?
At The Education Station, we have a vision. That vision is to foster and support instruction in the kindergarten classroom.
To make our vision a reality, we have committed ourselves to a simple, yet profound, mission:
To provide quality staff development and resources to kindergarten teachers.
To accomplish this mission, we employ a variety of proven strategies.
At The Education Station, we:
- Bring together kindergarten teachers, administrators, specialists and nationally recognized experts in the field of early education at state and regional kindergarten conferences.
- Offer a wide array of courses tailored to meet the specific needs of kindergarten teachers and their students.
- Provide classroom resources for use during classroom kindergarten instruction and activities.
- Introduce kindergarten teachers to current research in kindergarten instruction.
- Develop and disseminate publications (books, newsletters, magazines) to enhance professional staff development among kindergarten teachers.
